Living World - NZ Dotterel - The NZ Dotterel is a threatend NZ bird spiecies with around 1700 left. They generally nest on beaches but have been found nesting on our Waste Rock Embankments. Below are a range of learning activities to help you find out more about the NZ Dotterel. When on a full tour of our mine site, we take you up to the area where the dotterel has been found breeding.
Print off the following pdf files. Have children investigate how each was used in relation to mining using the resources and Internet to find as much information as possible. Have them stick information to completed models.
